KFO says Minister must consult with fishing organisations on penalty point system



The Killybegs Fishermen’s Organisation says Minister Creed has to consult with fishing organisations to come up with a fairer new fishing penalty point system.

The planned new laws were voted down in the Dail this week after Donegal Deputy Pat The Cope Gallagher highlighted the issue.

Minister Creed has called the opposition TDs who voted down the legislation as ‘acting recklessly’.

CEO of the KFO Sean O’Donoghue says they are not against putting a penalty system in place but it needs to be fair.
