Fire service warn of increased risk of gorse fires in warm weather spell



The local fire service are warning of the increased risk of gorse and forest fires in the warm weather.

Temperatures are set to be in the mid 20s in parts of the Northwest today again.

Last year there were a number of gorse fires in Sligo and Leitrim, with the most serious in the Killery Mountain area.

The Chief Fire Officer in Sligo, Gerry O’Malley is urging everyone to careful of the increased risk during this warm weather period…..
