Donegal Minister Joe McHugh says he’s intrigued by the vote in Donegal constituency today.
The county is set to be the only county in the country most likely to vote NO today with the final unofficial tally figures showing a marginal win for the NO side at 52% and 48% for the YES side.
The Fine Gael TD and Minister backed his party in calling for a YES vote in the final days of the campaign but he has always expressed a concern about the 12 week government proposal.
He says if the official figures which will be announced later show a NO vote in Donegal – then he won’t be disappointed as that is simply democracy at work:
