Rovers beaten by clinical Bohs

SSE Airtricity League Premier Division

Sligo Rovers 0

Bohemians 2

(Grant 68, 86)

Two superb second half finishes from striker Danny Grant earned Bohemians a valuable three points at the Showgrounds.

Grant brilliantly curled home the opener against the run of play midway through the second half, and expertly smashed home a second with five minutes left as the visitors took the points.

Unbeaten in three games, Sligo Rovers started confidently and Rhys McCabe forced Bohs captain Shane Supple to tip a dangerous early free-kick over the bar.

Raffaele Cretaro went close not long effort when he flicked Eduardo Pinceli’s free-kick goalwards, but Supple made a diving stop.

Pinceli went close from a free-kick in the second half, but Rovers were caught on the counter for the opening goal, as Kevin Devaney’s ball deflected towards Grant inside the area, and he curled in beautifully into the top corner.

Grant wrapped things up with another assured finish off the post after Eoghan Stokes picked him out in the area.
