Drumsna Boxing Club hosting tournament on Sunday



At the end of a very successful year, Drumsna BC will be hosting a tournament this Sunday May 6th in St. Mary’s Hall, Carrick-on-Shannon. The show will feature many of the club’s current county champions and Connacht finalists for the 2017/2018 season who will display their talent and the skills that they have learned in this past year to the local community.

Current female girl 1 Connacht champion will be in attendance on the night but will not be competing as she will be at the start of her All-Ireland Championships.

Also, on the night the club will have recently crowned European silver medallist, Dean Clancy who boxes out of local female boxer Saidhbh Greene’s club, Ballinacarrow in Sligo. Dean has qualified for the World Championships later this year where he hopes to qualify for the Youth Olympics.

Also boxing on the night will be Dean’s brother Jason, who is current light-heavyweight All-Ireland Senior Champion.

There will be many underage boxers fighting from 4pm with the main event starting at 7pm. Tickets can be bought on the door for €5.
