Leitrim ladies set to opt-out of championship for 2018

It appears that Leitrim will not be fielding a team in this year’s Connacht Intermediate Championship, which means Sligo and Roscommon will advance straight through to the final.

The Leitrim ladies have not had a management team in place this year, and fielded in just two of their seven National League Division Three games, suffering heavy defeats as they were relegated to the bottom tier for 2019.

It has now emerged that the County Board will not be fielding a team in either the interprovincial or All-Ireland series.

As a result, Leitrim are unlikely to be able to send their senior, intermediate and junior club champions forward to represent the county in the Connacht competitions at the end of the year.
