Sligo Rovers welcome Bray Wanderers to The Showgrounds on Monday night in the SSE Airtricity League.
Rovers were 2-1 winners over the Seagulls earlier in the season and go into the game on the back of draws with St Patrick’s Athletic and Waterford FC.
In team news, Kyle Callan-McFadden, David Cawley and Adam Morgan serve one-game suspensions. Patrick McClean and Gary Boylan are doubtful with injury.
Michael Schlingermann is ruled out with injury. Seamus Sharkey returned to the squad on Friday after injury.
Gerard Lyttle said: “The performance was very good in Waterford. We deserved the point. We reacted well as the half went on and fully merited to go in level. One of the most pleasing things was we had to reshuffle because of injuries going into the game, and then twice during it with Gary going off and then Kyle being sent off. It didn’t knock us back and we kept battling to get the result.
“I think it tells you a bit about the team. They dug in, there is a real togetherness about them and they are willing to fight and that’s growing and growing. We have spoken to them about believing in themselves and I think it’s getting through because they have a management team with a huge amount of faith in them.
“I said beforehand that we were building a bit of momentum and getting a result against a side that were 100% at home prior to us visiting has added to it. Our results away from home have been good. Now that we’re back in The Showgrounds we want to add to our points total here. We have to win matches and turn these performances into a run of points. The progress we are making will not count for much without wins.
“Bray’s performances have been decent in the last few weeks. They got the win against Shamrock Rovers but the rest of the display have been much improved and sometimes when you’re at the foot of the table you will lose by a goal and things will not go your way. We don’t go into the game with a mindset of this is a game that can be a banker – it’s going to be really difficult and we have to keep improving our focus, work-rate and get better.
“It’s difficult when you have such a run of fixtures and you carry three suspensions and a couple of injury doubts. We’ve done all we can to recover from Friday. The Friday–Monday scenarios should be limited as much as possible – it doesn’t make much sense – and Bray have to travel to Sligo on a Monday night as well. We hope our supporters come out and get behind us and we produce we result we all want.”
