Yeats and Heaney centres to collaborate to promote poetry



The Yeats Society in Sligo will work with the Heaney centre in the North to promote the universal importance of poetry.

The theme of ‘poetry without borders is just one being explored today as part of National Poetry Day.

To mark the day the Yeats Society will announce its first ever poet-in-residence and launch its Summer School programme.

Director Susan O’Keeffe says as part of their efforts to promote Yeats as a tourism product for the North West they are also working with the new Heaney centre in Derry:
