German ambassador says potential for more links with the North West



The German Ambassador is in Sligo this week where she has been meeting with the Chamber of Commerce, the IT and German businesses that have set up in this region.

Deike Potzel has been in the new role as ambassador since last November and her main role is to promote Germany and links with the country as well as promoting the language.

She will return to the region in May to open a German art exhibition in the Model and she will return again in September to start a German-language initiative.

Claire Mulcahy caught up with her at the Riverside Hotel in Sligo earlier today and started off by telling me about her role and the huge potential for employment here in Ireland for any young people learning languages:
