Work on sewerage plants about to start



Work is set to start in the next month on four new wastewater treatment plants for county Sligo.

The groundworks for the upgrades of the Grange, Tubbercurry, Strandhill and Ballinafad plants have been carried out.

The four plants are being upgraded as one bundle by Irish Water and are set to be finished by October 2019.

There were problems with the Grange plant in particular in recent years due to the increase in the number of houses in the area especially during the busy summer season.
