Minister of State for Tourism to meet with Inishmurray boat owners tomorrow in Sligo



The Minister of State for Tourism is to meet with boat owners who run tours to Inishmurray Island tomorrow.

The island off Co Sligo is famous for having one of Ireland’s best-preserved early monastic sites.

But now the Marine Survey Office (MSO) attached to the Department has warned a small number of commercial boat owners who provide day trips to the island that this practice must cease with immediate effect because of health and safety reasons.

Keith Clarke who has been running tours to the island for 32 years, says tomorrow will be a chance for boat owners to air their grievances….
