The Minister of State for Tourism has said that he plans to visit Inishmurray Island in Co Sligo as soon as he can.
Boat owners who operate tours to the island off Co Sligo have been warned to stay off it.
The Department of Transport says all visits to the island must cease on health and safety grounds.
Sligo/Leitrim TD’s Tony McLaughlin and Eamon Scanlon raised the issue in the Dail yesterday….
Responding Minster Brendan Griffin said he is aware of the issues, and he says he will visit the island shortly….
