Sixteen patients on trolleys for over 9 hours in Sligo

The number of patients on trolleys has spiked again in the North West today according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

Its figures show Letterkenny University Hospital has 25 patients on trolleys while there are 19 people waiting in Sligo.

However, the HSE’s daily count reveals the situation is in fact worse in Sligo where 16 of the 19 patients have been waiting on a trolley for over 9 hours.

The numbers in Letterkenny were down to 12 by lunchtime today according to the HSE’s tally with 2 patients waiting on a trolley for over 9 hours.
