MEP Matt Carthy – ‘Ireland is losing three MEP seats not gaining two after Brexit’



Ireland is set to gain two European Parliament seats after Brexit.

There are currently 11 MEP’s here, but there will be 13 once the UK leaves the EU.

As a result the current three constituencies, of Midlands Northwest, South and Dublin may need to be redrawn.

Meanwhile Sinn Fein MEP Matt Carthy says in his view Ireland is actually losing seats, because Northern Ireland will lose its three seats in the European Parliament after Brexit….
