Sligo County Council has issued almost 80 fines for illegal dumping in the county in just over a year.
44 fines were issued in the Sligo Town area, while seven fines each were handed out in the Tubbercurry area, the Mullaghmore/Cliffoney area, and in the Collooney/Ballinacarrow areas.
Four people were fined for offences in Enniscrone/Easkey/Dromard areas as well as four more in Riverstown/Ballinafad/Geevagh areas.
Three fines were issued for dumping in Monasterden in South Sligo and just one in Strandhill.
The figures were given by the council in response to a query from Ocean FM News.
