Tributes led by President following the death of legendary country music star Big Tom



The death has been announced of country music legend Big Tom.

It’s understood the 81-year-old Castleblayney native had been taken to hospital in recent days and passed away early this morning.

The Mc Bride family issued a statement confirming his death this morning.

Big Tom was loved right across the North West, nationally and internationally for his music and tributes have been led today by the President Michael D. Higgins and the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar as Barry Whyte reports:
