Weather warnings in place — but north west likely to escape the worst



The north west may escape the worst of the stormy weather that’s expected this evening and tonight.

A Status Yellow Rainfall Warning is in place for western coastal counties until 9am tomorrow, Tuesday.

A Status Yellow Wind Warning is in place for the entire country until 6am tomorrow.

Winds in places are expected to reach gale force with some local flooding as a result of heavy rain.

But, as Met Eireann forecaster Pat Clarke told Ocean FM News earlier, the north west not get the brunt of the bad weather:
