Listen back to this program of Arts House which aired Sunday 15th April. Barbara-Rose Sanwo speaks with students from ITSLIGO who have launched an event to commemorate 200 Years since the construction of Sligo Goal and 100 Years since the incarceration of Michael Collins within its four walls.
A group of IT Sligo students are marking 200 years of Sligo Gaol and 100 years of the incarceration of Michael Collins in collaboration with Sligo County Council and Friends of Sligo Gaol under the helpful guidance of their lecturer Joanna Sweeney.
On the 19th April they will be hosting the event opening with a Jail Break Event from 11am through to 2pm with a talk on the past, present and future of Sligo Jail from 12-1 o’clock which will take place in the Aurivo Auditorium, IT Sligo.
