Calls have been made for William Butler Yeats commissioned benches to be purchased and situated around Sligo Town.
The benches would be made from cast iron and polished stone, and they would be fitted with a sound system that would broadcast Yeats poetry.
They would be similar to the Chopin benches in Warsaw.
Cllr Marie Casserly says the benches would be a massive boost to tourism in Sligo…..
