Deery handed three-game ban

Sligo Rovers assistant manager Kevin Deery has been handed a three-game touchline ban by the FAI.

It follows the former Derry City midfielder’s recent sending-off in Rovers’ 1-0 defeat to Shamrock Rovers at Tallaght Stadium.

Deery will be forced to watch Saturday’s game against Limerick, next Tuesday’s trip to Cork City, and Saturday week’s home game against St Patrick’s Athletic from the stands as a result.

Meanwhile, Ben Connolly will take charge of Rovers’ trip to Limerick this Saturday.

The FAI have also confirmed that Finn Harps’ assistant boss Paul Hegarty has been handed a one-game ban, and he will be absent from the touchline as Harps travel to UCD tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Cork City’s Steven Beattie and Garry Buckley are both set to miss their side’s game against Rovers on Tuesday through suspension after they were handed bans following their late red cards in last weekend’s defeat to Waterford.
