13,000 cruise ship passengers expected in Killybegs during the next five months

Over 13,000 cruise ship passengers are expected in Killybegs in Co Donegal this summer.

Fifteen cruise ships, with the capability of carrying over 13,000 passengers, will land in Killybegs during the next five months.

The first cruise liner, the German based MS Astor, carrying almost 600 passengers, will arrive at the end of this month.

The biggest of the ships to arrive in the summer will be the Cunard Line’s MS Queen Victoria and MS Queen Elizabeth in the middle of June. Between they’ll carry almost 4000 passengers. These will be by far the longest vessels ever to have visited Killybegs Port.

With eight of the fifteen ships making their first port call to Killybegs, it is expected to be the Co Donegal towns busiest tourist season ever.
