Calls for boundary wall to prevent flooding at Sligo estate



Calls have been made on Sligo County Council to build a boundary wall at the Woodlands Estate in Ballytivnan.

The estate has been hit by severe flooding on a number of occasions over the last number of years.

In 2015 a number of homes where damaged of flooding, while in January this year the fire service had to pump flood water away from homes after torrential rain.

These residents say they are living in fear every time there is wet weather, and they hit out at Cllr Marie Casserly for what they say were false promises over funding last month….

 

Meanwhile Sinn Fein Cllr Thomas Healy says a boundary wall would offer flood protection, and it is the only viable option…
