Northwest MEP says Taoiseach needs to change attitude towards the west



A Sinn Fein MEP has said that the Taoiseach will have to change his attitude towards the west and northwest, or else it will remain in decline.

It follows revelations yesterday that an application for EU funding for transport projects in the west and northwest was dropped following an intervention by Leo Varadkar when he was Minister for Transport.

Projects such as the western rail corridor and the upgrading of Sligo airport were deleted from an EU-wide transport programme in 2011.
