The Castle Golf Club member, who has family connections in Sligo, will face James Fox in the first of this morning’s semi-finals.
Portmarnock’s Fox is looking to win the tournament 20 years after his brother Noel tasted success.
The second semi-final involves Robert Brazil from Naas and Jack Madden from Royal Portrush.
The two winners will contest the final this afternoon.
