Late leveller eases Sligo’s relegation worries

Niall Murphy’s injury-time free earned Sligo a draw in Offaly yesterday, and boosted their hopes of surviving in Division Three.

The point prevented the hosts overtaking the Yeats men in the table, and means the Leinster side have to beat Westmeath next weekend or they will be relegated along with Wexford.

Here’s Sligo boss Cathal Corey speaking with Gain Cawley…

In Division One, Donegal and Mayo’s clash in Ballybofey on Sunday will be a straight relegation play-off after both sides lost at the weekend.

Donegal were beaten by six points away to Monaghan, while Mayo lost at home to Tyrone.

Donegal boss Declan Bonner was disappointed…

Elsewhere, Leitrim’s Division Four tie away to Waterford was postponed at the weekend.
