41 years to the day after Donegal girl’s disappearance, gardai issue new appeal

Gardai have issued a new appeal for information about a six-year old Donegal girl who disappeared 41 years ago today.

Mary Boyle is missing since the 18th March 1977, making her Ireland’s longest-running missing child case.

At the time, she had been visiting her grandparents at Cashelard, near Ballyshannon.

A protest took place earlier this month outside the offices of the Donegal County Coroner calling for an inquest to be held into the case.

A Garda statement issued today says its investigation remains live and is ongoing at this time.

Anyone who has information or who think they can help is asked to call Ballyshannon Garda Station on 071 9858530 or the Garda Confidential Line, 1800 666 111.
