‘Take-away packages, coffee cups, plastic’… dumping continues to blight the Irish landscape



Littering and Dumping is a countrywide problem that needs to be tackled urgently.

That’s according to Donegal Independent Cllr Niamh Kennedy who says the problem in Donegal is especially evident at this time of the year when there is little growth.

At a meeting of the Donegal Municipal District this week, the Council outlined that out of a total of 210 complaints made to the Council on dumping in the last year just four fines were paid.

Councillor Kennedy says it’s a difficult problem to resolve but something has to be done to protect our natural and tourism product:

Meanwhile a number of bags of rubbish were dumped off the cliff in Mullaghamore recently as well.
