Fianna Fail leader says decentralisation can save rural towns



The Fianna Fail leader says he believes that decentralisation can help rejuvenate rural Ireland.

100 jobs, which had been decentralised to Tubbercurry over ten years ago, where lost in 2012 after the majority where transferred to Ballina.

The job losses where a severe economic blow to the South Sligo town at the time.

While he was in Tubbercurry yesterday, Micheál Martin was told by a number of busniessmen that the town has never recovered from those job losses. And he admitted more now needs to be done to get people living and working outside of Dublin……..
