The old fire station in Donegal town is to be demolished in the next two weeks to make way for much-needed car-parking spaces in the town.
The Donegal Municipal District meeting yesterday confirmed that the work should now go ahead paving the way for at least 40 new car-parking spaces in the town centre.
A contractor is expected to be appointed in the coming days and the Council has already ringfenced the estimated €30,000 cost of the project.
