Killybegs needs funding for regeneration

A Donegal councillor is calling for funding to be provided to help with the regeneration of the town of Killybegs.

Independent Councillor Niamh Kennedy says more than 200,000 people pass through Killybegs every year on their way to the Sliabh Liag cliffs, with many of them stopping to see the renowned fishing port.

She is calling for work on footpaths, lighting, cobble footpaths and underground wiring, all in keeping with the historic nature of the coastal town.

Cllr Kennedy will raise the issue at a Donegal municipal district meeting of the council today.
