Irish Water have admitted that the current boil water notice in South Sligo is causing a ‘terrible inconvenience” to businesses.
It was confirmed on Friday evening that the boil water notice will remain in place until at least the end of April.
13,000 customers on the supply have had to boil their water for all basic household tasks and especially for drinking since the start of February.
Businesses effected will get a 40% discount off their water bill, but Regional Operations Manager with Irish Water, Seamus Granhan admits this doesn’t make up for the amount of money businesses are losing….
