Irish Water has confirmed this evening that a Boil Water notice will remain in place in South Sligo until the end of April at least.
The bacteria cryptosporidium was detected in the Lough Talt water supply last month and in the latest round of sampling another six cases have been detected.
13,000 customers on the supply have had to boil their water for all basic household tasks and especially for drinking since the start of February.
