The people of Enniscrone in West Sligo still do not know when they will be able to vote on changing the spelling of the name of their village.
There had been hopes a date would be set at this week’s meeting of Sligo County Council.
But that did not happen after councillors heard the council’s placenames committee is to have a full report on the issue at its meeting on April 16th.
After that, it’s expected to be discussed again by councillors at their May meeting, at which it’s hoped a date for a plebiscite will then be set.
Speaking to Ocean FM News, Sinead Durkin, of Enniscrone, gave her reaction to the situation after this week’s council meeting:
