Irish Water under fire for communication on Leitrim water outage

Irish Water says the number of people in Leitrim without water is reducing after nearly 3000 people in the south of the county have been left without water over the past few days.

It has been criticised for failing to communicate especially with local schools in a clear manner for them to be able to make a decision on whether to open or remain closed.

Irish Water says no day-time restrictions are in place today but night-time restrictions are likely again later from 11pm to 7am.

Alternative water supplies outlined yesterday for people and especially schools remain in place but people are urged to conserve as much water as possible to allow the reservoirs to recover.
