Knock airport closed/Road conditions slow but care needed



Road conditions in the region are slow but most route are clear with care.

There have been scattered snow showers overnight right across the region but the warning level has been reduced from Red down to Orange for Sligo Leitrim and Donegal.

Gardai are warning that side roads are not gritted and people should drive with extreme care.

There are also strong and gusty easterly winds which is making driving conditions difficult.

Anyone going for a flight this morning is advised that Ireland West Airport Knock is closed today.

All flights have been cancelled and the airport hopes to reopen weather permitting tomorrow morning at 7am.

Schools and third level colleges and institutions remain closed of course.

Post offices and many public buildings remain closed today as well as some businesses but people should check before going anyway today.
