Gardai in Sligo are investigating the death of a 20-year old man in the town.
The young man’s body was discovered after gardai were called to an apartment in Connolly Street at about 1:20this afternoon.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The office of the State Pathologist has been notified.
A 31-year old man was arrested a short time later.
He is being held in Ballymote Garda Station.
The Garda technical team is at the scene.
Connolly Street, which is just off the Mail Coach Road in the town, has been cordoned off.
Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have information to contact them.
