A Roscommon business-owner had to install his own filtration system due to a boil water notice that went on for over 2 years in his area.
Benny O’Connell from Benny’s Deli in Castlerea installed a UV and a filtration system on a sink due to the length of time the Boil Water notice was going on.
He says now a new treatment plant has been built in the area and the water is back to normal.
As many businesses in south Sligo are now faced with the same problem, he says there is no doubt that it’s a huge inconvenience and cost for a business.
He outlined to Ocean FM News how the situation started in Castlerea:
