It’s understood two arrests made in Sligo over the weekend in connection with crime across at least three counties were significant.
Two men, aged in their 20s and 30s were arrested in Collooney on Friday evening last.
Gardai have confirmed that they were arrested on suspicion of burglary and questioned in relation to crime in Sligo, Mayo, and Clare.
They were released without charge and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
One of the men also appeared in court in Sligo on Saturday on foot of an outstanding benchwarrant and was released on bail with conditions to appear at Loughrea District Court in Galway on the 7th of March 2018.
