‘Save our Post Office’ or ‘Pull the Plug’ on government warns former FF Cllr

A former Fianna Fail councillor is warning that if there is any threat to the future of Easkey Post office – his former party colleagues should ‘pull the plug’ in supporting the government.

Sligo councillors in the Ballymote, Tubbercurry and east Sligo areas are now calling on the council to write to the CEO of An Post, David Redmond, to ensure that Easkey Post Office remains open.

There are similar fears in relation to other post offices in the region, including Ballygawley in Sligo.

Blacklion in Cavan has already closed with fears it won’t reopen.

Former Sligo Fianna Fail Councillor Joe Queenan told yesterday’s Municipal District council meeting in Tubbercurry that this issue could yet end up in a debate on the floor of the Dail.

And if that’s the case, he says his former colleages should ‘pull the plug.’
