Taoiseach won’t step in to allocate additional beds to Letterkenny University Hospital



The Taoiseach has said he will not be stepping in and open additional beds at Letterkenny University Hospital.

The Co Donegal hospital has faced overcrowding this week again, today again Letterkenny is the third most overcrowded hospital in the country with 39 people waiting on trolleys.

In recent months 170 beds have opened in thirteen hospitals across the country, but not Letterkenny.

Fianna Fail Deputy Charlie McConalogue raised the issue in the Dail yesterday again:

But responding, the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said he wouldn’t be stepping in….
