Farmers to protest this morning over fodder scheme



Farmers in the region are taking to the streets this morning in protest at what they are calling ‘an unworkable’ fodder support scheme.

The Minister for Agriculture introduced a support scheme a number of weeks ago to help farmers experiencing fodder shortages.

The protest is being organised by the Irish Natura and Hill Farmers Association.

It will take place outside the Department of Agriculture offices in Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim, starting at half ten this morning.
