Aodh Ruadh GAA Club Notes

Registration 2018

Our first open registration event of the year takes place this Tuesday 13th February from 7pm to 9pm in Aras Aoidh Ruadh. We would encourage a big turn out for this event. Membership can also be paid at any time to Gerry Ferguson at Ferguson’s Jewellers. Players can also download registration forms from aodhruadh.org and submit this along with the relevant fee directly to their manager. Further registration sessions will be organised over the coming weeks and it is especially important all players are signed up club members.

Lost property

With the indoor training programme for boys and girls starting to get in to full swing, there can be quite a bit of property left behind in the way of tops, water bottles, etc. Parents / guardians are asked to label items going to training with their children to make it easier to reunite mislaid items with their owners.

Hurling

Underage hurling resumes on Sunday 4th March as always we could do with some help with our teams. Hopefully some new help will come on board with our teams as the same few volunteers can’t be expected to look after all the teams year after year. Anyone looking to get involved is asked to contact John Rooney 086-2587793.

Last one standing

Tyrone and Cork were the popular choices for a lot of our entrants this week in our Last One Standing competition, while, not for the first time, Mayo let down a lot of people. Elsewhere, although Jamie Brennan was disappointed to hit the post in Croke Park on Saturday evening, he is one of the 97 people left standing in our competition kindly sponsored by Liam Gallen of Mr G’s.

National Draw 2018

The deadline for sales of National Club Draw tickets is now overdue. Those with outstanding returns are asked to make them to Lisa McTernan or Gerard Ferguson by this Saturday at the latest.

Abbey Centre Bingo

Last week’s €400 bingo jackpot was shared by Pauric Rooney of Cliffoney and Rebecca Cahill of Bundoran. The stand up game prize of €130 was won by Nuala McDermott of Ballyshannon. The winter snowball had no winner so rises to €400 on 47 numbers or less. Bingo as usual this Friday at the Abbey Centre at 9pm, books cost just €10 with a €2,100 prize fund up for grabs.

Aodh Ruadh Lotto

There was no winner of last week’s Aodh Ruadh Lotto jackpot of €6,600. The winning numbers drawn were 7, 8, 9, 10, 17 and 18. In the lucky dip €20 went to Sarah Ferguson, The Rock; Pauline Finnerty, Parkhill; Anne and Eamon Maguire, Clyhore; Peggy Coughlin, Erne Dale Heights; and Michael Gallagher, Donegal Town.
