Community gardai numbers in Co Donegal cut by almost 95%



The numbers of community gardaí in Co Donegal have been axed by almost 95% in the last seven years.

Figures released to Sinn Féin show the number of community gardaí fell from 1,112 in 2011 to 691 in 2017 across the country.

While Co Donegal was one of the worst hit divisions, with community gardai falling from 35 to just 2.

Meanwhile the community policing figures are also down in Sligo and Leitrim.
