No joy for Donegal or Leitrim, but Sligo claim first win

It’s back-to-back defeats for Donegal and Leitrim at the start of the national league, but Sligo are up and running.

The Yeats men beat Wexford by 1-16 to 1-13 in Markievicz Park in Division Three, but Leitrim lost out to Laois by 3-16 to 3-10 in Carrick in Division Four.

And Donegal suffered an agonising one-point defeat for the second successive game as Galway claimed a 1-12 to 0-14 Division One win in Letterkenny.

In hurling, Donegal had a hugely impressive win over Derry, while Sligo beat Cavan, and Leitrim suffered a one-point defeat to Lancashire.
