Manorhamilton Seán McDermott Boxing Club’s Dearbhla Rooney and Ballinacarrow Boxing Club’s Dean Clancy won Irish U18 boxing titles at the National Stadium Dublin last night. (Friday, January 26).
Rooney scored a 5 – 0 winning margin when decisively defeating Ellie Preston, Baldoyle Boxing Club Dublin in her national U18 57 kg final and claimed her fifth Irish underage championship of her career in doing so.
Clancy had a clear cut 4 – 1 winning margin when he overcame the challenge of Owen McDonagh Leeside Lough Boxing Club Cork in his Irish title fight in the National Stadium last night.
