Sligo Cllr says credit union money could be used for local projects



A Sligo councillor says there’s about €60m savings in the credit union in the county that could be used for investment..

Fianna Fail Councillor Seamus Kilgannon says the money could be used for much-needed projects such as housing, hospitals, schools and playgrounds

He is calling for the government to come to an arrangement with credit unions so this money can be used for worthy projects

He says the current situation doesn’t benefit either the credit union or the country:
