Leitrim Councillors aghast as broadband still appears to still be years away



The fact that many parts of Leitrim and other counties may not see the rollout of high speed broadband for another 7 or 8 years drew gasps of horror from Councillors in Manorhamilton yesterday.

The reaction following a motion put down by Fianna Fail Councillor Mary Bohan to get an update on the rollout of broadband in the north Leitrim area.

The executive said that a full presentation will be made to Councillors in Manorhamilton in February.

But Cathaoirleach of the MD Fine Gael’s Frank Dolan said he was not consoled by figures revealed by the cross border development group ICBAN recently.
