Farmers say alot of farmers now ‘sorted’ for fodder



Farmers attending Ballymote mart in county Sligo this week say a transport subsidy from the Minister is a fair and adequate measure to deal with fodder shortages.

Despite announcing this support on Wednesday, Minister Michael Creed was still coming in for criticism for not providing a meal voucher as well.

However, sources have revealed to Ocean FM News that many farmers don’t agree with a meal voucher system because alot of the farmers who really need it won’t apply for it.

Most people who spoke to AgriWeek at Ballymote mart this week said while they recognise that there are shortages, they personally have enough fodder for now:
