Farmers await more details on fodder transport support subsidy



Farmers are waiting for more details on a subsidy announced by the Minister for Agriculture yesterday for people who have fodder shortages.

The North West region has been worst affected by the bad weather this year.

But despite calls from well before Christmas for some kind of a support scheme, they had been falling on deaf ears until yesterday at the AGM of the IFA in Dublin.

Pauric Joyce says the Minister’s confirmation that he will provide some support for transport is welcome but he says they are still waiting for the details on how this will work:
