FULL INTERVIEW : McGinley family say they are only in carpark because they’ve nowhere else to go



A member of a traveller family who live in a public carpark in Sligo Town says they are only living there because they have nowhere else to go.

The McGinley family have lived at the Connaughton Road carpark for the past 34 years.

There has been a long running dispute with Sligo Co Council and the family, and in the past six months a barrier erected by the council has been illegally removed by the family three times.

The Council has said that has cost at least €7000.
